Does this tool support UTF-8 text?

Yes. Encoding and decoding use the TextEncoder and TextDecoder APIs so emojis and non-ASCII characters are handled correctly.

Can I decode a Base64 image?

Yes. If your input is a data URL such as data:image/png;base64,..., the decoded text is shown and an image preview is displayed below the output.

What is the difference between URL and URI Component encoding?

encodeURIComponent encodes every reserved character so the result is safe inside a query parameter. encodeURI keeps reserved characters like /, ?, and : intact so the result is still a valid URL.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. All encoding and decoding happen locally in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
